Our CQ and DQ Steel Products
Barsteel Corporation provides both drawing and commercial-quality steel coil and sheet to customers in a wide range of industries. Commercial quality, also known as CQ, is a low carbon steel variety, typically containing less than 0.25% carbon.
Our CQ steel sheet products offer several important benefits:
- Durability: CQ steel exhibits good corrosion and rust resistance, making it ideal for multiple environments.
- Formability: CQ steel's low carbon content makes it easy to form and weld.
- Hardness and Strength: With Rockwell hardness values typically ranging from 40 to 65, CQ steel is excellent for automotive, construction, furniture, and structural applications. Hardness can be higher depending upon the chemistry range selected.
Drawing quality steel sheet and coil features less than 0.05% carbon content, contributing to its formability while avoiding cracking or loss of structural integrity. Our drawing quality steel coil and sheet products exhibit high weldability, exhibiting a typical Rockwell hardness rating between 35 and 50. We recommend DQ steel for applications such as furniture, fixtures, and automobile body components.
